STYLE SPOTLIGHT: KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN'S 'MOMMY' STYLE

As a mom to a very busy toddler, I really like how Kourtney focuses on fashionable outfits that are comfortable and good for running around after her little ones. She always looks pulled together and stylish but also practical. I find that I focus on my work/grown-up style a lot but often neglect the style basics I need to look fashionable when I'm chasing around after Kingsley. Here is some casual Mommy style inspiration:

Seeing this photo of Kourtney Kardashian makes me want to run out and buy white jeans (seriously, how long have I been talking about doing this... I need to buy a pair). Kourtney is wearing a Rails shirt, Rue jeans, Balenciaga flats and Dita sunglasses. Mason is wearing Mini and Maximus tank and shorts and Nike sneakers (cuteness).

Kourtney is wearing a Myne sweater, Hudson jeans (LOVE these), Balenciaga flats and Tom Ford sunglasses. Mason is wearing a GAP t-shirt, Zara pants and Nike sneakers. Penelope is wearing a Marc Jacobs dress, Ralph Lauren sweater and baby Bloch ballet flats.

Kourtney is wearing a Love Sam jacket, Monrow t-shirt, Citizens of Humanity jeans, Jean Michel Cazabat pumps, Celine bag and Benjamin sunglasses. I really like the easiness of a plain white tee and colourful blazer. This outfit could quickly become toddler appropriate if the pumps were swapped with flats.

STYLE SPOTLIGHT: NICOLE KIDMAN

Cannes has started and the dress porn is already amazing! Nicole Kidman is on the jury at Cannes this year which means she'll be on the red carpet every day during the festival. She's definitely started things off on a great note!

Nicole wearing a floral Dior dress that is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I love that she paired the dress with neon pink heels too. Everything about this look is exquisite.

Nicole wearing a black Alexander McQueen and purple pumps. I love this dress so much! The detailing on the neckline and sleeves makes it so much more than a little black dress.

WHAT'S IN MY BAG - GUEST EDITION

The latest edition of What's In My Bag is from one of my very stylish colleagues - Denise. She's recently moved from a large bag to a small cross body bag and has an interesting perspective on the switch. Enjoy!

What's In My Bag: Denise
I've been tired of carrying around a medium to large sized bag and decided to make the switch over to a tiny cross body purse...and I'm loving it! This bag holds barely anything (which yes I recognize is usually a con when looking to purchase a handbag)... but it's the best feature because it makes it impossible to squirrel away earrings, glosses, receipts, sunglasses, etc etc etc which I always have a habit of doing. The simplicity has benefited me in many ways, primarily in my relationship... I never make my BF wait while I hunt for my keys anymore!

My Bag: Marc By Marc Jacobs $285 available at Holt Renfrew {similar}
What I carry: This day, because I was going out straight after work:
- MAC Pro Longwear's long lasting eye liner in black ice
- Revlon Colour Stay Ultimate Suede in red couture
- Excel Gum
- Leather ruffled coin purse to hold my Amex card, ID and cash
- Not shown, my Blackberry (which I have purely for work reasons)

Dream Bag: Gucci Soho Disco Bag $895

MY WEEK & WEEKEND - EXTENDED EDITION

The last few weeks have been so busy! Plus, I'm having some technical difficulties with my computer so I've been awful about posting the last few weeks. Sorry! Here's a recap of what I've been up to so far this month:

We celebrated Kingsley's 3rd birthday the other week with a really fun construction-themed party. We went a little crazy with all of the fun decorations but the kids loved it and Kingsley had an amazing time. I still can't believe he's 3!

Some shots of Kingsley at his party. His cake and cupcakes were from Nothing Sweeter Than You. The cake was adorable and so delicious! I also had Rachel Beau from The Party Agency come out and do the entertainment for the party and organize all of the activities. I wasn't sure if it would be too much for his age group but the kids LOVED them! Seeing them decorate their foam hard hats, do the limbo and have a dance off was adorable. Rachel got all of the kids super excited and even took care of the loot bags for me! She was amazing!

Kingsley's outfit details: Ralph Lauren Polo shirt {similar}, Gap jeans {similar} and Adidas runners {similar}.

TOP - L: I had my hair cut on Saturday. I can't wait to grow my hair back but I'm trying to own this shorter length - LOL. R: The 'after' of my haircut. I'm wearing my Celine Audrey sunglasses in these photos.

BOTTOM - L: I switched up my normal red polish and went light for my latest mani (which is a huge change for me - lol). I'm wearing Shellac's Romantique. R: Going out for dinner with my boys post-haircut. And yes, Kingsley is playing a bugle.

TOP - L: I had a work event last week and we all ended up wearing nude shoes. I guess we're all on trend ;-) I was wearing Cole Haan's Chelsea pump which are one of my favourite pumps because they're really comfortable. R: Outfit snapshot #1 - Smythe blazer, TNA tank, 7 For All Mankind jeans, Cole Haan pumps {similar}.

BOTTOM - L: Outfit snapshot #2 -  3.1 Phillip Lim leather jacket, Club Monaco tee, Citizens of Humanity jeans and Tory Burch flats. R: Kingsley received a skateboard for his birthday and has been obsessed with it ever since. He's already asking for ramps... I have a serious daredevil on my hands!

CURRENTLY OBSESSED: J. CREW GLAM

I have a serious problem when it comes to J. Crew's statement necklaces. They get me every season!  J. Crew can always be counted on for stand out unique pieces that take the term 'statement' necklace to another level. Here are a few of my new favourites:

MET GALA 2013: THE BEST

Yesterday was the Met Gala and it did NOT disappoint - there's so much to talk about (good, bad and boring)! The theme was Punk and I have to be honest, there were a lot of let downs (hello, Gwyneth in Valentino) but here are some of the looks that stood out the most and were (most importantly) on theme:

TOP: Sienna Miller in Burberry, Anne Hathaway in Valentino, Rooney Mara in Givenchy, Sarah Jessica Parker in Giles and a Philip Treacy headpiece, Carey Mulligan in Balenciaga.
BOTTOM: Dakota Fanning in Rodarte, Gisele in Anthony Vaccarello, Lily Collins in Moschino and Madonna in Givenchy.

BELLE SPOTLIGHT: MAY BEAUTY WISH LIST

1. ORIGINS GINZING REFRESHING EYE CREAM: Jordana recently tried this eye cream and is a big fan. Containing a complex of caffeine from coffee bean, Panax ginseng, magnolia extract and natural optic brighteners to rapidly reduce dark circles, bags, puffiness and refresh tired eyes.
2. OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE COSMETICS - LIP TAR in Narcussis: Jordana tried this recently and was raving about it. Despite telling me that I have to be on a beauty ban, she also told me that I definitely need to buy this - LOL. It comes in 40+ shades and claims to have the longevity of a lipstick and the easy application of a gloss. Lisa Eldridge used Hush recently in a Baby Bardot makeup video and it's peaked my interest even more!
3. DERMALOGICA DAILY MICROFOLIANT: This is Dermalogica's hero product and it's an amazingly gentle rice-based exfoliant. It micro-exfoliates dead skin cells instantly leaving skin smoother and brighter. Plus it doesn't have any artificial fragrances or colours.
4. AESOP DAMASCAN ROSE OIL: This is another cult favourite I've heard a lot about but haven't tried. It's a deeply nourishing moisturizing treatment for dry and distressed skin. Concentrated, vitamin-rich treatment oil, it contains a blend of ten precious plant extracts including rose petal and neroli blossom, chosen for their hydrating properties.
5. LIVING PROOF AMP2 INSTANT TEXTURE VOLUMIZER: This is another recommendation from Jordana. She swears by this line. It's a hair texturizer that amplifies volume with flexible hold. Perfect for creating an imperfect look, this brings instant life and volume to hair.
6. ARMANI EYES TO KILL MASCARA: People who've tried this mascara always rave about it. I'm pretty dedicated to my Benefit They're Real Mascara but I want to give this one a try.
7. CHANEL LES BEIGES: This is Chanel's newest beauty launch and it's getting a lot of buzz. Inspired by the outdoorsy lifestyle led by Coco Chanel - catching the sun on the beaches of the Cote d'Azur - Les Beiges is a feather-light formula that gives an outdoorsy gleam without concealing natural radiance. It's a powder and bronzer in one that's designed to give a natural sun-kissed look. Sign me up!
8. CLARINS BEAUTY FLASH BALM: I've read about this product recently and heard it's a miracle product that moisturizes, brightens and tightens so skin looks rested and relaxed (sounds amazing right?!). This is Clarins most popular product with one selling every twenty minutes worldwide.
